What's display resolution?

Screen resolution is the number of pixels that make up a screen and a picture. Each pixel is a small point we see on the screen (as you can see when you look very closely at the screen or with a magnifying glass, etc.). These small dots merge and form the big picture. The number of these pixels in the new generation flat screen televisions we use today is between 1 million and 8 million. In other words, a HD (720p) television has 1 million pixels, while a 4K television has 8 million small dots, or pixels.

WHAT IS 4K - ULTRA HD?

Let's start with the 4K display, which has been keeping the agenda busy recently. In fact, if we are talking about a TV being 4K, we should talk about a new concept in our life, Ultra HD . In cinema, we watch images in 4K resolution. 4K is technically the resolution with 4096 vertical pixels. In other words, Ultra HD TVs are called 4K but we cannot count exactly equivalent. Ultra HD televisions with a resolution of 36040 X 2160 (8.3 megapixels) have 4 times more pixels than Full HD televisions broadcasting 1920 x 1080. (2.1 megapixel)

1080P - WHAT IS FULL HD?

Full HD displays with 1920 x 1080 screen resolution are based on 16 'to 9 (16: 9) widescreen television measurements. 1080p refers to the vertical resolution of the screen. So, when we consider the dimensions of 4K television, a Full HD screen is not 1K (assuming 1920 is equal to 2K)

What does "p" in 1080p mean? question may come to your mind. p = means progressive scan (one-time scanning method). You may encounter 1080i resolution. Here, "i" stands for interlaced scan .

Movies in blu-ray format, which was a very popular term at the time, had 1080p resolution. Platforms such as Youtube, Vimeo, Netflix (or online series, movies, video sites) can usually go up to 1080p (Full HD). Even Youtube supports 4K video. However, the “quality resolution” commonly used today refers to 1080p.

720P - WHAT IS HD?

HD is now a term that has become obsolete in today's world. However, it is still a highly used technology in our country. Screens with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels have 1 million pixels, while 1080p screens have 2 million pixels.
